Of flattened ovoid form, finely carved on one side with a scholar at rest in a terraced garden beneath a pine tree as his attendant looks on, the other side carved with a scholar in a pavilion looking out over a lake towards a man in a sampan in the distance playing the flute, the two scenes separated by pine and ornamental rocks on the narrow sides, the conical stopper carved with pendent lappets reserved on a wan diaper ground beneath the gilt-bronze knop
