Lot Essay

Incorporating British patent no. 743 of 29 March 1853

The present Lot is possibly the only 'Longspur' revolver made without full grip-straps. A transitional percussion revolver by Joseph Lang with a similar Continental-style fluted butt was sold from The Bell Collection, Bonhams, Knightsbridge, 11 November 1998, Lot 86
