A Shibayama style fan
19th century
the spokes decorated in hiramakie, takamakie and inlaid in mother-of-pearl and stained ivory with birds and insects in a flowering garden, the fan painted in sumi, colour and gilt on paper with carp in a river beside a flowering riverbank, the reverse with a snow-covered riverside village, attached silk tassle and ivory ojime, black and gold painted lacquered box, (damages).
