A SILVER WIRE-INLAID AND GILT-EMBELLISHED BRONZE ARCHAISTIC VASE AND COVER, HU
19TH CENTURY
The vase is cast to the body with a large taotie to each side, above a band of stylised dragons to the foot and stylised mythical beasts to the neck, all reserved on a leiwen ground. It is applied with a rope twist loop handle attached to two animal-head fittings at the neck. The cover is similarly decorated with taotie and kui dragons.
