A SMALL WHITE JADE SHAPED RECTANGULAR PENDANT
18TH-19TH CENTURY
One side is carved in low relief with twin fish suspended from a ribbon-tied chime, and the reverse with four seal characters, jiqing youyu (auspiciousness and abundance) within a double rectangle, all below ruyi-shaped clouds above. The semi-translucent stone is of even white color.
1 5/8 in. (5.2 cm.) high

Lizzadro Collection, Elmhurst, Illinois, acquired prior to 1960.

Lot Essay

A white jade pendant of shaped rectangular shape carved with the same decoration, but of larger size, 2 1/8 in. high, also from the Lizzadro Collection, was sold at Christie's New York, 21 March 2013, lot 855.
