A SMALL WHITE JADE 'WATER BUFFALO AND BOY' GROUP
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The stone is carved as a recumbent water buffalo grasping a stalk of millet in his mouth, a rope tied through its nostrils trails onto its back, where a boy is seated playing a flute. The well-polished stone is of an even white tone with a few russet inclusions.
