A WHITE JADE 'MAGPIE AND PRUNUS' SNUFF BOTTLE
1750-1850
The bottle, of ovoid shape, is raised on a concave oval foot and carved in low relief on one side with two magpies in flight amidst blossoming prunus branches that extend around the sides. There is some faint opaque white mottling in the pale greenish-white stone.
2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) high, ruby and 14k gold stopper

Two magpies represent 'double happiness', shuangxi.
