An Annamese and a Swatow blue and white dish
15th Century, 16/17th Century
Painted sketchily with a central peony-head surrounded by spiky foliage, similarly decorated in a broad band along the well, the flanged everted rim with a scroll border, rim chips, 37.8 cm. diam.; and a Swatow dish painted in the 'kraak'-style with a central roundel of a phoenix perched on rockwork, below borders of bamboo and flowers, rim crack and chips, 38 cm. diam.
