signed on the body-tube T. Cooke, York, with spring-loaded limb, enclosed bubble level and staff mounting, with maker's trade label, in the original shaped mahogany case -- 9in. (22.8cm.) wide; an oxidised-brass French Cross with compass and rack adjustment, in oak case -- 8¼in. (21cm.) wide; and a surveying level signed Ertel, in carrying case -- 9in. (22.8cm.) wide
