An Edwardian mahogany and inlaid quarter chiming longcase clock, early 20th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset reeded brass columns, glazed side panels, arched glazed trunk door, the plinth inlaid with an urn within a garland, the 12½in. wide brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to silvered Roman chapter ring, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, selection in the arch for Westminster Chimes/Silent, the eight day four pillar movement with anchor escapement, brass rod pendulum, with hour strike on one tubular bell and quarter chimes on four further bells -- 89in. (226cm.) high
