The case decorated overall with arabesques, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, sword-hilt half hour and half quarter hour markers, signed 'Iohn Stokeld Lincoln', the matted center with date and mock pendulum apertures, pierced blued steel hands, no strike/strike 'N/S' above XII; the six pillar movement with two train gut fusee and later anchor escapement, the foliate engraved backplate with signature reserve 'John Stokeld / Lincoln', striking on a bell and pull repeat on six bells, lacking seatboard, with later pendulum and case key
14 ½ in. (37 cm.) high, 10 ¾ in. (27.5 cm.) wide, 7 ½ in. (19 cm.) deep

John Stokeld (d. 1751), of Lincoln; known to have worked at 34 Steep Hill from 1724 to 1738 and possibly to 1745.
