AN INDIAN HUNTING TULWAR
The hilt 18th Century
With curved blade double-edged towards the point and both sides decorated with a near full-length chiselled relief of elephants, tigers, gazelles and buffalo in combat, iron hilt heavily encrusted with scrolling arrangements of chased silver flowers on a contrasting damascened ground of gold flowerheads, the pommel fitted with matching pierced chiselled ring, in its velvet-covered wooden scabbard, and the hilt preserved in fine condition
