Probably Brussels, first quarter 19th Century
The circular white-enamelled Roman dial with engraved centre signed J. B. Ghiesbrecht Aine, containing the movement with anchor escapement, silk-suspended pendulum and outside countwheel strike on bell, the rectangular socle shaped case surmounted by a triumphant William I, king of the United Netherlands, above the oak and laurel leaf bezel, flanked to either side by a sappeur, above a relief depicting classical maidens and cherubs holding provincial coats of arms, centred by an enthroned queen, on a stepped plinth, with floral rim
