A facsimile of an early 19th-Century terrestrial folding globe, made up of six gores mounted on cardboard, with collared cords to the gore ends -- 7 1/8in. (18cm.) high, contained in cardboard portfolio, with printed title label to front cover, and hand coloured printed strip depicting the world's inhabitants in 15 panels and index - the strip 67in. (170cm.) long, 6½in. (16.5cm.) high, other panels showing geometry and the earth's path around the sun (edges of portfolio worn) with original fabric ties -- 7½in. (19cm.) high
