We are grateful to Drs. Luuk Pijl for confirming the attribution to Kerstiaen de Keuninck, after inspection of the original (verbal communication, 9 November 2008).

The present lot can be compared to a picture by Kerstiaen de Keuninck depicting John on Patmos, with Schlichte Bergen, Amsterdam, 1983.
