Schmuck (contemporary signature on title, who may have supplied the prices in this copy); Christian Ernst Graf zu Stolberg (engraved bookplate and Stolberg-Wernigerode stamp on title); Ernst Schulz, 1932 (signature on first blank).

PRICED in a contemporary hand. Sale catalogue containing 25,152 lots of the library formed by the polymath Leyser, professor of History and Poetry at Helmstedt, descended from a long line of scholars. It contained many thousand volumes of 16th and 17th century works of literature, history, medicine, law, and theology, as well as Latin and Oriental manuscripts. Leyser has been immortalized by his Historia poetarum et poematum medii aevi (1721), a pioneering work (ADB). Not in Buzas or Blogie.
