Lot Essay

Aichele first exhibited sculpture at the Berlin Art Exhibition of 1891 and continued throughout his career. He became a member of the German Academy of Arts in 1892. During his career he exhibited in the Crystal Palace Exhibition and in 1902 at the Dusseldorf Arts Exhibition. The present bronze possibly depicts Jagdbeute (Hunter's Trophy) which was first exhibited in 1904.
