FIRST EDITION, deluxe issue, one of 35 copies specially bound in blue buckram with the top edge gilt. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE PRESIDENT TO HIS SON on the front free endpaper: "For John Aspinwall Roosevelt This 'First Edition' of the 1934 book -- with love from his Pa Franklin D. Roosevelt." The 35 deluxe copies were printed simultaneously with the first trade printing, and so retained the early issue points associated with those copies: pp. 15-16 is a cancel and the errors on p. x and p. 162 are present, here WITH MANUSCRIPT CORRECTIONS AND INITIALS BY ROOSEVELT on p. x of the foreward, correcting the error listed on the erratum slip, and on p. 162. On Our Way was intended to summarize Roosevelt's first year in office and outline his plans for America's future. Halter T585.
