Isana is known as the Guardian of the Northeast direction, and is identified by the trident he carries. Chinese depictions of Isana appear to be relatively rare. In the Hindu tradition, Isana is also known as one of the five faces of Lord Shiva, and is sometimes seen accompanied by his consort Uma.
