Arabic manuscript on paper, 356ff. plus one fly-leaf, each folio with 13ll. of elegant black rayhani, with gold roundel verse markers, marginal section markers in gold or blue thuluth, one fine drop-shape marginal medallion emitting a spray of delicate composite flowers, sura headings in gold or white thuluth within gold illuminated panels or illuminated cartouches, some sura titles within the text, text within gold and black rules, catchwords, the opening bifolio with rectangular illuminated panels framing the text written within two circles, the illumination rubbed, areas of waterstaining, otherwise clean, trimmed, two folios replaced, in fine 16th century gilt and stamped brown morocco binding with flap, the stamped cusped medallions with floral arabesques, marbled paper doublures
