A four-case inro, gold lacquer ground; decoration in black and gold hiramaki-e with gold flakes and dust; compartments and risers gold nashiji; shoulders and rims gold lacquer; signed in gold hiramaki-e underneath Koma Kyuhaku saku [made by Koma Kyuhaku]; lacquered ojime with vine-leaf design

Another, gold lacquer ground; decoration in gold, aokin, black and red takamaki-e and gold foil, with overlay of ivory, shell and other materials; compartments and risers gold nashiji; shoulders and rims gold lacquer

On each side two crows on a flowering plum branch at dusk, on the front a huge sun in the background

And a five-case inro, gold lacquer ground inlaid with thirteen miniature panels of cloisonné enamel decoration worked in gold wire; compartments and risers gold nashiji; shoulders and rims gold lacquer; metal ojime with enamel decoration

拍品專文

The use of a kinji [bright gold lacquer] ground and the antiquarian reference to the Kodaiji maki-e style of carving prevalent around 1600, suggest that the first inro should probably be dated to the middle years of the Meiji period.
