Lot Essay

A qingbai dish of the same mallow form as the Falk example is in the Shangyu County Cultural Relics Bureau, Zhejiang province, and is illustrated in Zhongguo Taoci Quanji, (16), Song Yuan Qingbaici, Shanghai, 1984, no. 56. Like the Falk example, this dish has an unglazed mouth rim as a result of being fired upside down. Compare, also, the qingbai dish with unglazed rim published by B. Gyllensvärd Chinese Ceramics in the Carl Kempe Collection, Stockholm, 1964, no. 548.
