Wu Yunkai, alias Xinsheng, who was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, specialized in the painting of flowers and rocks, as well as landscapes. He is noted as having had unparalleled talent and exceptional exposure to masterpieces of the Yuan and Ming dynasties, which resulted in distinctive compositions and brushwork. Zhang Yong was from Wuxing and especially known for his landscape paintings.
