A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI ARMCHAIRS
QING DYNASTY, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Each chair is formed with arm rests in angular scroll-form. The upper backsplat is carved in shallow relief with chi dragons and the lower section is plain. The waisted chair is similarly carved with scroll-form aprons that are held together with two balusters on each side. The legs terminating in horse hoof feet.
