Lot Essay

The all Koa wood body SPD-16K2 was introduced in 2000 as a Special Edition dreadnought guitar. It incorporated details found only on earlier vintage Martins, like the pearl rosette along with snowflake and cat's eye motif inlaid on the fingerboard and bridge. Production ended in 2004. This guitar was built as a production prototype.
