Lot Essay

D'après Marc Felix ces masques sont particulièrement rares : "les grands masques kakungu et kazeba sont gardés dans la case du responsable de cérémonie et étaient sortis à l'occasion des initiations et des divertissements".
Seul un autre exemplaire peut en être rapproché, il s'agit de celui de la collection Charles B. Benenson conservé à l'université de Yale (2006.51.554), auparavant dans la collection de Wally et Udo Horstmann.
