With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present heart-shaped watch with enamel dial in 1859 and its subsequent sale on 5 August 1868. Furthermore delivered with a hardstone-set key and associated fitted wooden presentation box centred by a white crown inlay.

Consigned by a private collector, this watch is believed to be part of an exceedingly small series of such heart-shaped hunter case watches made by Patek Philippe, however all with varying decorations, rendering them unique.

For a detailed illustration of another heart-shaped pendant watch with diamond-set floral decoration see and 9 lignes heart-shaped cylinder movement see Patek Philippe by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, first edition, pp. 108 & 109, pl. 17a-c.
