A ROMAN BRONZE FORK
CIRCA 3RD CENTURY A.D.
With three tines (middle tine now missing), the cylindrical handle with animal hoof finial, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) long; two small bronze cochleare spoons with round bowls, one with ribbed tapering handle, 6¼ in. (16 cm.) long max.; a bronze ligula spoon with oval bowl, the handle with animal hoof finial, 4¾ in. (12 cm.) long; a bronze fiddle-shaped spoon, handle missing, 2¼ in. (6 cm.) long; a bronze spoon with tear-shaped bowl, the handle with ribbed rectangular section at join with bowl, 5¼ in. (13.3 cm.) long, all 1st-3rd Century A.D.; and a Late Roman/Early Byzantine spoon, the handle with notched and incised decoration, the finial in the form of a cross, the bowl of rounded leaf shape with pointed tip, probably silver-gilt, 6 in.
