IRAN, CIRCA 18TH CENTURY
With curved single-edged blade, tapering towards the point and single fuller along the strong edge, the blade with gold medallion ascribed to Assadullah al-Isfahani and the inscription 'Abbas bandeh shah-i vilayet ('Abbas, servant of the Lord of the worlds), with 19th century bone and iron hilt engraved with name of Shah 'Abbas, the black leather covered scabbard with white metal mounts
