Lot Essay

Ge-type vases of this particular form appear to be very rare. Compare to a Qianlong-marked similarly glazed hu vase of more elongated form but with the same handles formerly in the E.T. Hall Collection of Monochrome Porcelain, sold in our London Rooms, 7 June 2004, lot 145.
