Lot Essay

Compare the similarly glazed, Guangxu-marked vase of this shape, but without the peach-shaped panels, in the Qing Court Collection, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - 37 - Monochrome Porcelain, Hong Kong, 1999, p. 207, no. 186. As with the present vase, the mark is inscribed in the biscuit of the unglazed base
