A FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS

With three-stage belled iron barrel, the breech section octagonal then polygonal, plain tang, associated rounded lock retaining traces of engraving (cock an 18th-century working replacement), figured walnut full stock (minor chips and cracks) with raised apron at the barrel tang, brass butt-plate with long engraved tang, pierced brass scroll side-plate, associated iron trigger-guard (loose), shaped brass escutcheon engraved with a profile caricature portrait bust, single baluster brass ramrod-pipe, and later brass-tipped ramrod, London proof marks
