Lot Essay

Saint Barbara's special attribute is her tower. She was invoked against sudden death by storm and lightning and thus sometimes holds a chalice and wafer, implying the giving of the Last Sacrament. She was executed by her father's sword, he was struck dead by lightning and his body consumed by fire.
