A George III mahogany longcase clock, last quarter 18th century
The hood with pagoda top (altered) with mahogany ball finials and outset reeded and brass capped columns, with breakarch trunk door, on skirted plinth, the 11in. brass dial with foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with matted centre, signed on a silvered sector Thos. Higgins London, with date aperture and subsidiary seconds disc within a crenellated border, black painted steel hands, with strike/silent in the arch, the five pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 90./4in. (230cm.) high
