A HARDSTONE-INSET GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF MANJUSHRI
14TH-15TH CENTURY
The deity is depicted seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with his hands held before him in dharmachakra mudra, with a pair of lotus blossoms at the shoulders supporting the attributes. He wears an elaborate bejewelled headdress and his legs are finely incised with scrolling foliage, the body is adorned with hardstone-inset beaded garlands. The base is unsealed.
