A LARGE CARVED AND PIERCED IVORY TUSK
19TH CENTURY
It is intricately carved with the Eighteen Luohans variously engaged in different activities beneath the long textured bough of a pine tree, together with a tiger, crane, monkey, dragon, rabbit and Buddhist lion. Together with a carved fitted end piece. The wood stand is carved with foaming waves and a millet spray.

From a Private European Collection, acquired by the vendor's father prior to 1950.
