A MALLET-FORM CELADON BOTTLE
koryo dynasty (11th-12th century)

Of fulling-block form, with cylindrical lower body, slanted shoulder, tall cylindrical neck and wide, flat lip encircling the cylindrical mouth, covered overall by an even, smooth and clear green celadon glaze with little crackle, sparse large crackle on one of the lower sides and in one place on the shoulder and lip, the glaze slightly thicker and emerald in places on the lip, at the base of the neck and above the flat, glazed base--9 1/8in. (23.1cm.) high, lip broken and reattached, two small surface chips, clay adhesion and glaze pull on one lower side
