A pair of Meissen teabowls and saucers
Circa 1740, blue crossed swords marks, gilder's 4. to all pieces, Pressnummer 8o to teabowls, impressed ** to saucers
Each teabowl with two scenes with figures by buildings in mountainous landscapes, in boats on rivers and at discussion by barrels and cargo, within shaped rectangular cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels edged with gilt scrolls and surrounded by iron-red and puce Laub-und-Bandelwerk, the base of the interiors with indianische Blumen below a band of interlocking gilt scrolls divided by four panels with puce camaïeu vignettes, the saucers with mountainous river landscapes with fortified buildings and boating figures within similar cartouches and borders, gilt line rims (teabowls with minute wear to gilt rims, saucers with wear to gilt rims) (2)
