The case with handle to brass double basket top cast with strapwork and foliage, later urn finials, later repoussé frets to the front door and sides, later brass bun feet, the dial signed Dan Quare London to the top flanked by subsidiary dials for Strike/Silent and pendulum regulation, silvered chapter ring, later blued steel hands, matted centre with calendar and mock pendulum aperture, the movement with thick brass plates secured by six ring-turned robust pillars, reconverted verge escapement, re-instated pull quarter repeat on four bells via four hammers, hour strike on a further bell, the re-instated pendulum regulation system operating via rack-and-pinion on Tompion's system, the backplate well engraved with foliate scrolls and strapwork within a scored line border and centred by a wheatear-engraved oval cartouche signed Dan Quare London
