Lot Essay

The shape of the leaf and the carving are similar to that seen on a pair of pendants carved as double lotus leaves enclosing turtles, dated Jin dynasty, excavated from the tomb of Wugulunwolun, Wangzuoxiang, Fengtai, Beijing, illustrated by Gu Fang, The Complete Collection of Unearthed Jades in China, Beijing, 2005, p. 37.
