The dial within a serpentine ormolu bezel, silvered Roman chapter ring with individual dot outer minute markers, pierced blued steel spade hands, engine-turned silvered center signed below XII Vulliamy, London, pendulum regulation square at XII, the four pillar single chain fusee movement with half deadbeat escapement, engraved on the backplate Vulliamy, London 618, the drum-head movement case on a stepped pedestal and surmounted by a displayed ormolu eagle and flanked by two recumbant lions cast in the antique manner, the rectangular plinth applied to the front and sides with a typical foliate-cast ormolu frieze; with purpose made ebonized and velvet-lined plinth base
