A Tanto in Silver Aikuchi Mounts
Muromachi period (16th century), signed Noshu Seki ju Kanetsuna, the mounts Meiji period (19th century)
Sugata [configuration]: hirazukuri, iori-mune
Kitae [forging pattern]: masame
Hamon [tempering pattern]: suguha of jinie and nioi
Horimono [carving]: Buddhist ken and stylized dragon on omote and Sanskrit chacracter on ura
Nakago [tang]: suriage with three holes and takanoha file marks
Habaki [collar]: single, gilt-copper
Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 29.3cm.
Koshirae [set of mounts]: silver aikuchi koshirae carved with overall design of peonies, the hardware silver with insects and plants in iroe takazogan; menuki morning glories; kozuka and wari kogai decorated with flowers on tree stump
