The case with double caryatid handle above silk-backed cast brass basket top, urn and pineapple finials, elaborate foliate and scroll brass sound frets to the sides, damaged rear door, with bacchic mask mounts to the front angles and raised on winged paw feet, with foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre, subsidiary dials above for chime/silent and Cambridge/Eight bells selection, the substantial eight day triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on eight bells, with pendulum holdfast to the back plate -- 22in. (56cm.) high to fold of handle
