The case with stepped and moulded top surmounted by a carved lunette cresting with an acanthus moulding, the sides curving in below the cornice, with conforming base section also with raised panel, the main silvered dial with diagonal plates and Vernier scale, each signed RICHARDSON & SON SOUTHOWRAM, central turned bone key, with silvered Réaumur and Fahrenheit thermometer dial below, also signed, the mercury tube with flat cistern cover
