Engraved portrait frontispiece, 80 etched plates numbered to 81 (lacking all after Hhhh3, ie. text to plate 81, foot of title torn away and repaired, small hole in final plate, marginal repairs not generally affecting text or images, some staining). 19th-century mottled calf by Zaehnsdorf, yellow edges (covers detached, lacking spine, rubbed). Provenance: Richard Middleton Biddulph, Chirk Castle (armorial bookplate) -- various 17th-century signatures of the Middelton family on front free endpaper. Wing A-689.
