An English oak longcase clock
The case with hood with moulded caddy with later ball finials, blind fret panel to the cornice, glazed side panels and outset plain columns, with mahogany banded trunk and trunk door, the plinth with quatreform panel and on later bracket feet, the 12in. square brass dial with old man mask and scroll spandrels to a silvered chapter ring with fleur de lis half hour and lozenge half quarter hour markers, matted centre with seconds ring and decorated date aperture, vacant hole for lacking signature plaque (?), later brass hands, the four pillar movement with inside countwheel strike on bell; case probably associated to movement and dial, case re-built and with restorations and replacements, first/second quarter 18th century -- 86in. (219cm.) high
