Oblong folio (365 x 460 mm). 39 (of 40 -- lacking no. 28) etched and aquatint plates of bullfighting scenes (slight marginal staining to several plates), each with tissue guard. Original tan canvas portfolio, sheets laid in loose as issued (covers stained, cloth ties lacking).
Copy No. 62 of 170 copies on heavy laid paper, of an edition of 230 copies, printed from the original plates and issued on the centenary of Goya's death. ASSOCIATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY HEMINGWAY to Dr. George Saviers in blue ink at left margin of title-page: "To George from Papa, Temperada [the bullfighting season] of 1959." Harris II, 309.
