Binding: contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over unbevelled wooden boards, sides panelled with fillets, compartments on the front cover filled with lily, rosette and lattice tools, apparently unrecorded, vellum quire liners, some deckle edges preserved, evidence of a manuscript rear pastedown, two fore-edge clasps with brass catches (some worming). Provenance: manuscript shelf mark on spine; A.S.W. Rosenbach (Rosenbach Collection card laid-in); Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate; purchased from Dawson's Bookshop, Los Angeles, 3 April 1942); donated to SMS 1942.
