ARMORIAL BINDING -- Book of Common Prayer. London: Charles Bill, 1706. 2° (444 x 278mm). Engraved frontispiece by David Loggan after Ianbatista Caespers, ruled in red, woodcut initials, mostly historiated, printed overslip on S2r, with the final blank (a few quires lightly browned). Contemporary blue morocco, ARMS OF GEORGE I IN GILT in the centre of sides set within double gilt panel with side fleurons and crowned monograms at the corners, other decoration in blind, spine in 7 compartments each with crowned monogram in gilt, silk ties with gilt tassels (corners worn). Provenance: Lowther (small oval gilt vellum bookplate).
