Lot Essay

With Rolex blank punched Garantie, sale tags, Rolex Buehlmann table card with air diving decompression table in transparent holder, green document holder, calendar for the years 1992 and 1993, period brochures and fitted presentation box.

The present Sea-Dweller reference 16600 is one of the only around 200 examples of this model supplied to the Compagnie Maritime d'Expertise or COMEX between 1992 and 1997, featuring a gloss tritium dial with large COMEX logo.

The watches were delivered in two series, the first including serial N, such as the present watch, with the inscriptions "Rolex" and "COMEX" straight across the case back. The second series with serial U were engraved with the curved inscription.

The present example correctly displays both the reference number and serial number on the inside of the back. The outside is engraved with the issue number, in this instance 3277, as well as “Rolex COMEX” and the more usual inscription “Rolex Oyster Original Gas Escape Valve”.

It is furthermore preserved in very good, original condition, the appeal enhanced by the presence of the original guarantee, diving table, bracelet changing tool and box.
